ECT TV Episode 84: How to Make Drop Earrings
I have a brand new earring video tutorial (+ step-by-step photos and written instructions below!)These are simple and dainty drop earrings that utilize a wire wrapped loop bar.

Materials and Tools:
- 2 Bead Dangles *
- 20 Gauge, half-hard round wire
- 2 Earring wires (or make your own. Here's a tutorial.)
- Wire cutters
- Round nose pliers
- Chain nose pliers
- Bent nose pliers
- Ruler
* I didn't show you how to make a bead dangle in this video because I've shown it several times previously. Click here for how to make a bead dangle. (It's later in the tutorial for the bracelet.)Please keep the weight of the beads in mind when you're choosing beads for earrings. You don't want them to be too heavy and pull your ears.Step #1
Cut a piece of wire 2 1/2" long.You can customize these earrings and make them longer or shorter if you like.Step #2
Make a flush cut on each end of the wire.To make a flush cut: use the back of the wire cutters toward the work.Step #3
Hold the wire in round nose pliers about 3/4" from the top.For a tip for making your loops uniform throughout your project, click here.Step #4
Wrap the wire around the pliers to form a loop.Step #5
Hold the loop in chain nose pliers.Wrap around once and at the same time pull the wire out straight so the loop is centered on top of the wire.Step #6
Make 2 additional wraps.Trim any excess wire and make sure the end is not poking out.Step #7
Measure 1/2 inch from the bottom of the last wrap and hold the wire in round nose pliers at that spot.Step #8
Wrap the wire around the pliers to form a loop.Step #9
Slide a bead dangle into the loop.Now we'll continue like we did with the other wire wrapped loop as if the bead dangle isn't there. (Steps #5 and #6 above.)
Step #10
Open an earring wire and place the top loop into the earring wire loop. Close the earring wire.
Repeat for the second earring.
