  • The raffia that the crow beads come strung on.
  • A can
  • Wire cutters
  • Round nose pliers
  • Chain nose pliers
  • Another pair of pliers, I used bent nose pliers

*You could use any color that you like for the wreath! For these ornaments, feel free to use the artistic wire you find in craft wire, silver plated copper, copper or any other wire since you won't be wearing the ornament.Step #1Wire Wrapped Wreath Ornament TutorialWrap the wire around the can and leave a little extra wire on each side.Step #2Wire Wrapped Wreath Ornament TutorialWire Wrapped Wreath Ornament TutorialTwist the wire closing the circle.  Twist twice.Step #3Wire Wrapped Wreath Ornament TutorialGrasp one of the wires with round nose pliers.Step #4Wire Wrapped Wreath Ornament TutorialWire Wrapped Wreath Ornament TutorialWrap the wire around the barrel of the pliers forming a loop.  If the loop is off center, then straighten it.Step #5Wire Wrapped Wreath Ornament TutorialWire Wrapped Wreath Ornament TutorialHold the loop in chain nose pliers.  Using another pair of pliers wrap the wire around.  Then wrap the other wire.Step #6Wire Wrapped Wreath Ornament TutorialWire Wrapped Wreath Ornament TutorialCut a piece of 20 gauge wire.  I usually work in about 15 to 20 inch pieces.  It's easy to add more wire as you go along.Start to wrap it around the wraps from the loop and then once around the wire of the circle.Step #7Wire Wrapped Wreath Ornament TutorialWire Wrapped Wreath Ornament TutorialSlide a crow bead onto the wire.  Wrap the 20 gauge of wire around the base attaching the bead to the base securely.Step #8Wire Wrapped Wreath Ornament TutorialWire Wrapped Wreath Ornament TutorialAdd another bead and wrap the wire around the base.A note on wrapping:  There isn't an exact science for doing this.  I like to wrap in between each bead and then go back and wrap around the bead or 2 before the one I just added.  You'll get the hang of it and understand more as you make the wreath.Step #9Wire Wrapped Wreath Ornament TutorialWire Wrapped Wreath Ornament TutorialWhen you use up all your wrapping wire, securely attach the end to the base.  Then cut another piece of 20 gauge wire to continue wrapping.  Work the end in by wrapping it a couple beads in from where you started.  Make sure the end isn't poking out.Step #10Wire Wrapped Wreath Ornament TutorialWhen you get all the way around, secure the end of the wire to the base.Step #11Wire Wrapped Wreath Ornament TutorialAdd a length of the raffia that the crow beads came strung on to hang the wreath ornament.Wire Wrapped Wreath Ornament Tutorial--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Intro to Jewelry Making eCourseSign up for my email newsletter and get my FREE 14 Day Intro to Jewelry Making eCourse!
