Creativity CountdownEach Monday leading into the New Year I’ll be posting a Creativity Booster.  There will be a variety of activities to try.  Sometimes there will be videos and sometimes photos.  These activities will boost your creativity and make you feel more creative so that you can express yourself in your jewelry making.What are we counting down to?Well, I’m so glad you asked!  January 5, 2015 (I know it seems far off now!) we’ll be starting our next round of Rediscover Your Creativity & Make Jewelry eCourse.  It’s a six week eCourse with weekly prompts to help you rediscover or boost your creativity, jewelry lessons and jewelry projects.To learn more about Rediscover Your Creativity & Make Jewelry, click here.Week 8 can be found here.Week 7 can be found here.Week 6 can be found here.Week 5 can be found here.Creativity Countdown Week 4Just 4 weeks until the beginning of Rediscover Your Creativity & Make Jewelry!I am so excited for this round of the eCourse.  I'm adding in new activities and tips and tricks and tutorials!Week 4 Creativity Booster:I know that a lot of people think they're not creative, get creatively blocked or feel as though they've lost their creativity.  (That's the whole reason I created Rediscover Your Creativity & Make Jewelry eCourse.)  If you look back to your childhood you probably can remember a time when you felt creative.  I know I drew without boundaries, painted, made cards, made friendship bracelets by the boatload, among other things.I recently remembered an activity I did as a child.  I kind of think we may have done this in art class or it could have been something we just did on our paper bag book covers.  I don't exactly remember.It's really just doodling.  There's no right or wrong way to do it.  You don't have to show anyone - or you can if you want.  This is just for you.  Give it a try and see if you feel more creative overall.In the eCourse one of the weeks is all about doodling.  There is something about it that just starts you feeling more creative.Here's the activity:(I wish I had a name for this, but I don't.  I even tried googling it.  So we'll just call it doodling.)Step #1DoodlingFirst grab a piece of paper and some markers, colored pencils, crayons or even just a pen if it's all you have handy.Step #2Doodling Draw on the paper.  You can draw any shapes or we used to do it with our names in bubble letters.As you can see, I simply drew a heart, but you can draw a bunch of different shapes if you like.Step #3Doodling Start on the left side of the paper draw a line and then go around the shape (or shapes) you come to.  Basically, you want to keep the line straight across, but you have to go around any shapes and then back down to the level you started at after going around the shape.Step #4Doodling Continue by doing another line above the first one and continue until you fill up the top half of the page.  When you run out of room, just take the line off the paper and back onto the paper where there is room.You can use different colors, rainbow colors (like I did), just a couple of colors, black and white or whatever you like.  You can also color in between the lines so it's solid or leave them as lines like I did.  Whatever you like!Step #5Doodling Doodling Doodling Now do the same thing on the bottom half of the page, going around and under any shapes.Step #6Doodling You can doodle in your shapes, too, or color them in or leave them empty.  Whatever you like!Do you feel more creative?  I hope so!  If you would like to share what you made, you can post it over on the Emerging Creatively Tutorials Facebook page.Rediscover Your Creativity & Make JewelryMy 6 week eCourse, Rediscover Your Creativity & Make Jewelry starts on January 5th, 2015.  Learn more about the eCourse and get in here before the price goes up!Start out 2015 feeling super creative!  Each week for 6 weeks you get a creativity booster, jewelry making lessons and one or more jewelry making projects via video and PDF eBooks.  People feel unstuck creatively and find their creativity again!  This round I'm adding even more tips and tricks and jewelry making projects.Click here to find out more about this great eCourse.
