  • Beads of your choice **
  • 20 gauge half-hard, round wire, any metal you like
  • Wire cutters
  • Round nose pliers
  • Chain nose pliers
  • Bent nose pliers
  • Something cylindrical to form your hoop around.  I used a small candle, but you can use anything that's the size you'd like for your pendant to be.  You could use a large size on your ring mandrel.
  • Cord or chain to put your pendant on

** I used beads from a thrifted necklace.  They were small wooden beads.  This will work with any beads you like.Beach Themed Art Journal PageI took my inspiration for this pendant from the colors and theme of the art journal page I shared last week.Step #1ECT TV Episode 70: Beaded Hoop PendantWrap the wire around your cylindrical object.  Leave a total of 3 inches or more excess wire.  (1 1/2" on each side past the point where the wires cross.Step #2ECT TV Episode 70: Beaded Hoop PendantAdd beads to the wire.Step #3ECT TV Episode 70: Beaded Hoop PendantECT TV Episode 70: Beaded Hoop PendantTwist the wire once.  Make sure that the beads are close to the bend so that it looks like a continuous hoop of beads.Toubleshooting:  In the video I actually messed up this part leaving a break in the beads and fixed it, so if you have any problems make sure to watch the video.Hint:  At any time if your loop gets out of shape, just put it back around your cylindrical object to make it a circle again.Step #4ECT TV Episode 70: Beaded Hoop PendantHold one of the wires in round nose pliers.  Wrap the wire around to form a loop.Hint:  If one of your wires is longer than the other, use that wire.Step #5ECT TV Episode 70: Beaded Hoop Pendant TutorialHold the loop in chain nose pliers.  The loop may be off center, so straighten it as you wrap the wire around once.Step #6ECT TV Episode 70: Beaded Hoop Pendant TutorialWrap the wire around 2 more times. Wrap the other wire around a couple of times.Step #7ECT TV Episode 70: Beaded Hoop Pendant TutorialTrim off the excess wire making a flush cut.Step #8ECT TV Episode 70: Beaded Hoop Pendant TutorialUse chain nose pliers to make sure the ends are not poking out.Step #9ECT TV Episode 70: Beaded Hoop Pendant TutorialECT TV Episode 70: Beaded Hoop Pendant TutorialUse your chain nose pliers to twist the loop so that you can thread a cord or chain through and wear your new pendant.ECT TV Episode 70: Beaded Hoop Pendant TutorialOther ideas:
