Since I’ve been doing some pendant tutorials lately and there’s another coming tomorrow, I thought it might be helpful to share a simple cord tutorial.
Tools and Materials:
- Any kind of cord you like (I most often use cotton cord)
- 2 crimp ends (sometimes called fold over crimps)
- 1 4mm jump ring
- Lobster clasp
- Chain nose pliers
- Bent nose pliers
Step #1
Measure and cut the cord to your desired length.
Step #2
Place a crimp end on one end of the cord. Use your pliers to bend over the crimp ends. Fold one over, then the other. Do the same on the other end.
Step #3
Open a jump ring, place the lobster clasp on it, and then place the crimp end through it. Close the jump ring.
I don’t put anything else on the other crimp end. I just hook the lobster clasp through the circle at the end. You can put a jump ring on that end to hook the lobster clasp to on the other side; however, make sure that you add your pendant first or that your pendant will slip over the jump ring.
Step #4
Slide on a pendant and enjoy!
