Adjustable Wire Ring Tutorial

Adjustable Wire Ring Tutorial

This ring is quick and easy and a great introduction to making wire wrapped rings.

It’s also adjustable making it ideal for giving to people when you don’t know their ring size and a great little ring to make quick sales at craft shows.

Adjustable Wire Ring TutorialMaterials and Tools:

  • Wire – I used 20 gauge, half-hard wire for this tutorial, but even thicker would be great, too!  (The lower the number the thicker the wire.)
  • Ring Mandrel
  • Round Nose Pliers
  • Wire cutters
Step #1

Cut a piece of wire about 3″ – 5″ long.  Obviously, if your finger is bigger, you’ll need a longer piece of wire.  Experiment.

Step #2

Use your round nose pliers to make a loop on one end.

Step #4

Wrap the wire around the ring mandrel or another round object.

Keep the wire straight the the 2 loops will be flat as seen in the photo below.

For a different look, you could hammer the wire flat before wrapping around the ring mandrel.
