Today (well yesterday) was Day 4 and it’s all about water!

Water is so very important to our existence on a physical level, but water is also very important to me personally on a more spiritual level as well.

My husband and I went to Niagara Falls for our honeymoon.  It was one of the most beautiful places I have been and quite possibly the happiest I remember ever being.  The American side (I am partial to that side) is a state park full of all kinds of beautiful nature to explore.

It was much more than just the fact that I was on my honeymoon that made me happy at Niagara Falls, though.

Waterfalls have an abundance of negative ions.  Negative ions are invisible molecules that we inhale.  Once they’re in our bloodstream, they are believed to produce biochemical reactions to increase our serotonin levels.  That boosts our energy and relieves stress and depression.  (I find it so ironic that so many people try to kill themselves over the falls.  How can you be depressed at Niagara Falls?)

So water is pretty important to me.

I must say, however, I never really had a mindful glass of water.  I try to drink a lot of water, although sometimes I’m actually extremely thirsty before I will get myself a glass of water.  However, having a mindful glass of water was a very enjoyable activity that I intend to continue with.

I’m feeling a lot of stress and anxiety lately over a few things.  Today in the shower I just imagined standing in a waterfall and the water just taking all the stress and washing it away.
