Materials and Tools Needed:

  • Natural Turquoise Nugget Beads (From Happy Mango Beads)
  • Mixed Gemstone Beads 8 mm (From Happy Mango Beads)
  • 16 gauge black copper coated wire
  • 20 gauge silver wire
  • Chain (I used a vintage chain I got at a jewelry sale.  It’s already finished.  You’ll need a clasp if you don’t have a finished chain.)
  • Jump rings.

Step #1

Spiral Charm Necklace TutorialCut a 3″ piece of the 16 gauge black wire.  (I cut 4″, but I ended up cutting off an inch.)

You can use any wire you like.  20 gauge wire would be fine, too.

Note:

The next steps show how to make a spiral.  This video shows in general how to make a spiral.

Step #2

Spiral Charm Necklace TutorialHold the wire at the tip in round nose pliers.  The wire should be even with the top of the pliers, but not poking through.  (You should be able to run your finger over the top.)

Step #3

Twist the wire around the barrel of the round nose pliers.  Go as far as you can go, readjust your wrist and complete the loop.
